Yamaha India has launched the 150cc, SZ-X and SZ-R in new colour options. The upgrade is mainly limited to cosmetic changes with an addition of a kick starter. The SZ-X is now available in three colour options: Red, Black and Silver while the SZ-R gets a dual tone colour scheme. The colour options include Quality Red, Quality Black and Quality White. The dual colour scheme certainly gives that added aggressive look to the SZ-R.
The SZ primarily competes with the Bajaj Discover 150, Honda Unicorn and Hero MotoCorp Acheiver. The bike sports a slightly de-tuned 153cc engine which also does the duty on the street fighter FZ series. The lower power helps to return a higher mileage on SZ series.
The SZ-R is also equipped with a disc brake and incorporates the Yamaha DNA of superior ride quality.
About the SZ-X
Powering the new SZ-X is an all-new 4-Stroke air-cooled, SOHC single cylinder with 153cc engine that has been tuned for optimum performance i.e. Extra Power in the low to mid-speed range thereby ensuring a stress-free ride on Indian roads. The bikes are equipped with AI System and a large-capacity muffler with catalyzer for cleaner exhaust.
The bikes flaunt some cutting edge design structures like the headlight cowl with 3-dimensional slanting line which along with a sporty fender with split look enhances the look of bikes. There is a large capacity 14L fuel tank which gives the ability to go Extra Mile.
The long cushioned seat ensures comfortable riding position enabling a straighter back and Extra Comfort while commuting long distances. SZ-X is also equipped with some of the finest technologies like electric starter and a windscreen to cut inward air swirl, thus making a hassle free riding experience for the rider.
Adding to SZ-X charisma are the sophisticated meter panel, shroud with dynamic image, modern look dual tail lights, full plastic chain case (gives protection from dust & water), robust side cover and 5-spoke cast wheel.

More on the SZ-R
The 153cc SZ-R is a modern & sporty version of SZ-X which is a powerful, comfortable and stylish commuter. The muscular SZ-R is targeted at commuter customers with their sports-oriented interests and is designed to create the sensation of “High Speed”.
The bike comes with front disc brake, tachometer and has tank protector added to the fuel tank to make it appear even larger. Furthermore, the shroud of the standard SZ-X model is replaced by an aerodynamic spoiler that extends out boldly and is given the same silver coloring as the side covers. The bike also has clear lens flasher, colored handle grip end bar, painted muffler end caps along with special graphics.
