There is more news on Maruti’s new MPV concept. As per Autocar India Editor Hormazd Sorabjeethe new MPV may be called the Ertiga. The new MPV which will be a maiden entry for the auto maker to enter the MPV segment is based on the Ritz platform and rival to the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova.
The new Ertiga will be powered by an all new K14 engine which will produce 95 BHP of power Fiat Multijet will do duty on the diesel Ertiga, with power of 89 BHP and 200 Nm of torque.
The Ertiga will start at Rs. 7 lakhs and may cost about 9 lakhs for the top end model. The launch will most likely to happen at the upcoming 2012 Auto Expo.
