Maruti Suzuki India achieved another milestone with the compact car WagonR crossing the 10 lakh units sales mark since its launch in 1999.
WagonR is the fourth model from the company’s portfolio that has crossed the 10 lakh units sales mark. Earlier its best selling model Alto, once bread-and-butter car M800 and multi-purpose van Omni achieved this feat.
WagonR is the second highest selling car in the country after Alto, and the company is selling around 15,000 units per month.
The new WagonR was launched in 2010 and is available in Petrol, CNG and LPG fuel options. The car is equipped with the K-Series 999cc engine.
The WagonR competes with Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10.
