Volvo Auto India launched its S60 luxury sedan in India, at an event held in Mumbai.
The sedan will be available in three variants and two engine options. The diesel motor powering the S60 will be the same 205bhp D5 unit doing duty in the XC90 and the S80. While the petrol S60, badged T6, is capable of producing with 304hp power and 440Nm. The all new S60 comes with a starting price of Rs 27-lakh (ex- showroom, Mumbai and Delhi).
The sedan will be available in three variants from this month onwards and the most expensive one will cost Rs 34-lakh. The S60 sedan will be available in the both petrol and diesel variants in the market.
The Volvo S60 is likely to compete with Audi’s A4 sedan and the C-class sedans sold by Mercedes-Benz India.
Volvo S60 will offer unique features such as World’s first ‘Pedestrian Detection’ with full auto brake, Advanced Control with Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Laser Assisted Automatic Braking – City Safety, Turn with steering lights (Active Bending Lights) among others.
The Volvo comes with a two-year or 60,000km warranty. The D5 diesel gets two variants with prices starting from Rs 27lakh for the base Kinetic, going up to Rs 32lakh for the top-end Summum variant. The high-performance packed T6 Summum petrol retails at Rs 34lakh (prices ex-showroom Delhi).
