The Volkswagen UP! Was one of the most anticipated car at the Auto Expo, but he German car maker at last moment decided not to pull the wraps as the company is yet to decide about the launch if the small car in India. The UP! Small car will be positioned below the Polo hatch and the decision to bring it to India will be by end 2012.
The Volkswagen UP was caught testing at Pune and it seems like the company have shipped down the 3 Door and 5 Door variants to show to the suppliers to estimate the cost for manufacturing the car in India.

The UP! Hatchback is quite pricey in the European market unlike the Hyundai i10 and Maruti A-Star against which the car will compete when launched.
When launched the UP! Will be powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol and diesel engines which also the Volkswagen Polo. The power may be slightly on the lower end to make the car even more fuel efficient.
India will get the 5 door variant of the UP! and will be customised to meet the Indian standards.
Internationally the UP! Is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0-liter petrol unit with BlueMotion tech (including a stop/start system) outputting 44 kW (60 PS / 60 bhp) and 55 kW (75 PS / 75 bhp).
We hope this beautiful hatchback comes to the Indian market very soon.
