Some good news for petrol heads, Volkswagen is going to launch the Jetta Sedan with a 1.4 TSI petrol heart. The Jetta will complete one year in the Indian market and this could be a ideal time for the manufacturer to revive the interest in the brand.
The Jetta Petrol has been caught testing numerous times in the past. The Jetta is powered by a 1.4 TSi turbo-charged, direct-injection petrol engine which develops 122Ps of power and a decent 200 Nm of Torque. What’s surprising is its cousin the Skoda Laura gets a 1.8 TSi engine which develops a power of 160 ps. That’s a whopping 40 Ps more. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gear box and the DSG is not on offer unlike the Laura which gets the same.
The Jetta petrol will be available in two variants: Trendline the base model and Comfortline the top end in case of the petrol engine. The Jetta is well equipped gets loads of features.
The price is going to play an important role for the Jetta’s success. But with steep petrol prices and treat of further increasing prices the Jetta may not find too many buyers. But certainly it will help higher footfall in the showroom.
