Volkswagen India has introduced new features on Polo hatch & Vento sedan. The company also used this occasion to announce a price hike on the same which is effective from today (28th Jan).
The increase in prices comes on the backdrop of additional features incorporated in both the carlines. The Polo and Vento will now be sporting the advanced 2 DIN RCD 320 music system with Bluetooth, USB, Aux in and SD card reader and climatronic air conditioner.
The company have also eliminated the 60:40 rear seat folding option in these new models and now come with a single piece option only.
These cars will see an increase in prices upto 2.27 per cent. The Polo and the Vento have been strong pillars of growth for the Brand and in the year 2012 which manage to sell 62,507 units.
VW will be betting hard on the Polo & Vento and plans to launch new variants which will add some fizz to the brands. In the pipeline are the Polo TSi and Polo GTD with a 1.6 diesel engine option.
Volkswagen is also studying to launch the UP! Small car for the Indian market, but is finding it hard to price it competitively. The UP! Will be pitted against the likes of Hyundai i10, Maruti Ritz and Ford Figo.
