Italian scooter maker Vespa, expanded their portfolio in the Indian market with the launch of Vespa SLX 150 and Vespa VLX 150. Vespa part of the Piaggio Group introduced four new models in India, SLX & VLX in two engine options – 150cc and 125cc.
Vespa which has positioned themselves as premium scooter maker in India has taken the level to the next stage and now becomes the only scooter maker in India to offer 150cc automatic scooters.
The new features offered include new front panels different for SLX and VXL with loads of chrome, digital instrument console, 11 inch front five spoke alloy wheel, broader tubeless tyres, front disc brake and the traditional single piece monocoque steel body.
The 150cc engine, with 3 valves, aluminium cylinder head, overhead cam shaft and roller rocker arm, MAP sensing and variable spark timing management produces high power of 11.6 PS @ 7000 rpm and max torque of 11.5 Nm @ 5500 rpm mated to a CVT transmission.
The broader tyres front 110-70/11 and rear 120-70/10 are designed to offer superior grip. The large 200 mm disc brakes offers enhanced braking performance.
The Vespa SXL range is available in 5 attractive colours (orange, matt black, white, matt red and azure blue), whereas the Vespa VXL range is available in 6 exciting colours (yellow, white, red, matt black, green and maze grey).

The company also introduced Vespa for Children/ Del Piero version” programme for a charity auction, under the umbrella Piaggio Group charity “Vespa for Children”.
