Volkswagen has been working very hard to penetrate the Indian market. The Germen car maker has spend crores of money on advertisements to create the awareness on brand. But when it comes to sales the company has not able to reach its targets.
Volkswagen launched the Polo with a lot of fun and fare in 2009 and expected the car to be in the top tem like the Maruti Swift. But Polo won the hearts of only a few car lovers who bought the car for the brand, handling and looks.
The Polo has been doing modest numbers in the last few months. The company now plans to infuse some boost by adding features to make the car look more value for money. The Polo gets few updates in the form black inserts on its headlamps, new music system head-unit with USB and Bluetooth connectivity and set on new alloys.
Volkswagen also plans to launch an AT version and the transmission could be borrowed from the big brother Vento. However the AT will be coupled with the petrol engine only. We hope VW give some power boost to the car considering its arch rival Swift now comes with 87 Ps of power
There were also rumours of the Polo getting a 1.5 diesel engine as the current engine does give the driver enough grunt.
So Volkswagen how do you plan to surprise us?
