Toyota India will give the Etios and Liva a much need facelift in 2013. With changing customers tastes and demand, the Japanese company seems to leave no stone unturned to make the Etios series a grand success in the Indian market.
Toyota launched the Etios in 2010 and expected the models to give the company very large volumes. The Etios Series did give the much need volumes boost, but seems like the parent company is not happy with the performance.
Toyota initially faced problems as many customers complained of poor plastics and dull interiors as the company went on a cost cutting exercise for the Indian market. Toyota was quick to bring in changes and launched the 2012 model update at the 2012 auto expo with better NVH and darker grey interiors. Toyota has been working constantly on the customer feedback and ensuring most of the important feedback is incorporated.
The company also launched the Etios with beige interiors in mid 2012. (We were told that the beige interiors were initially to debut in the 2013 update.)
Come 2013 and Toyota will give the Etios series and bigger makeover. The facelifted models of the Etios and Liva will arrive sometime in the middle of 2013.
So what to expect?
On the outside, the Etios may get s slightly modified headlamps and tailamps. There will be no sheet metal change
Interiors are where the company will largely concentrate. We can expect better quality plastics, beige interiors; adjustable head rests at the front, more comfortable seats and higher equipment levels
New colour options and sporty kit like the one offered on the Etios Sportivo TRD and Liva Sportivo TRD
A 1.5 litre Liva could also make it in the Indian market
