Tata Motors will launch a special edition of the Nano just before the Dushera festive season. The launch comes exactly at a time when Maruti will launch the all new Alto 800.
The Nano special edition comes with much needed features like:
- Alloy wheels
- Blaupunkt car audio system with MP3, USB and Aux-in & front two door speakers
- Glove Box: on the both the right hand side (lockable) and left hand side
- Special Edition Sticker on C pillar (both side)
- Body Graphic (in LX only)
All the above features are standard on both the CX and LX variants. One can book the Nano with a down payement as low as Rs. 15,000 only.
The Nano special editions will be available in the following colour options: Pearl White, Papaya Orange, Meteor Silver, Mojito Green, Champagne Gold and Sunshine Yellow
There are no mechanical changes and are purely cosmetic. We feel Tata should offer these features as standard and may charge a premium for the same. Instead of offering discounts and further degrading the Nano brand, adding more features and re-positioning it luxury commuter over a two-wheeler will help the car sell more effectively then as a cheap car.
The Nano has a mileage of 25kmpl to a litre. Tata should also provide a larger fuel tank with easy fuel filling option, which will make the fuel stops even convenient.
The price of the special edition will be announced in a couple of days.
