Exactly a month back we had posted the images of the all new Maruti Suzuki small car which has been speculated as the replacement for the ageing M800. But the new images give us a different picture all together. The new car will not only replace the M800 but also replace the current Alto F8.
Maruti Suzuki is in the final stages of testing the all new car and in January Shinzo Nakanishi, MD of Maruti Suzuki had made it clear the company is working on a replacement and will see launch most probably by Diwali this year.
Thanks to our friends at CarDekho who have got hands on clear images of the new Alto.
The car (Codenamed YE3) will share the underpinnings of the existing Alto but will be modified to suit the new design. From the images we can conclude the new Alto could be a slightly taller and will have profile quite similar to the Alto K10. The overall profile also resembles the A-Star hatch.
The car gets a hexagonal shaped air dam at the front and grille with a single chore slot with the Suzuki badge at the centre. The headlight seems to be a mix of the Alto K10 and also bears a hint of the Ford Figo. The bonnet gets sweeping lines and bumper gets nicely designed fins which resembles front skirts.
On the sides the car looks like a typical Maruti and there nothing much besides the flared wheel arches. Tyres seem to be 12 inch which means it could probably share the wheels with the current Alto.
On the interior end the car will get same seats as the current Alto with integrated headrests and grey coloured dashboard.
The car will be a headon competitor the Hyundai Eon and the top end Tata Nano.
