Land Rover will soon launch the updated Freelander 2 in the international markets. The SUV minor styling tweaks. On the exterior the SUV gets revised headlamps LED daytime running lights. The tail lamps also LED treatment. The chrome grille adds more dazzle to the front and a new set of new alloy wheel designs further add to the body styling package.
Land Rover has also added three new colors to the range of the 2013 model named ‘Aintree Green’, ‘Havana’ and ‘Mauritius Blue’.
On the Inside, the new Freelander 2 gets a new centre console with switches replacing the old model’s ‘Terrain Response’ dial and more storage added behind a new shutter. A new 7-inch color touch-screen displays the navigation system and audio functions.
Other features include Passive Start that replaces the key docking system, a rear view camera, and the ‘Say What You See’ voice activation system, which allows the user to control functions in the audio, optional satellite navigation, climate and phone systems via their voice.
All models are now also equipped with Land Rover’s Intelligent Power System Management, a regenerative braking system that helps reduce the car’s fuel use by recovering the kinetic energy produced during braking.
The engine options remain unchanged, two diesels – the 2.2-litre 150PS TD4 and 190PS SD4 with four-wheel drive. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the two-wheel drive 150PS eD4 engine.
The updated Freelander 2 will be shown at the 2012 Moscow Show on August 29.
