Tata Motors Aria Crossover may have not been a sales success, but definitely it helped the company to showcase its capability in terms building a product with advanced technologies and high comfort features. But the high price tag kept many buyers away from the Aria and settle down with the XUV5OO.
Tata Motors have finally realized the company needs to launch new variants and also offer the lower Aria at a lower price. Currently the cheapest variant is the Pure LX priced at Rs. 9.95 lakhs which was recently introduced, but still have not been able to draw the attention of customers.
There has been news of Tata Motors working on refresh of the Aria. The crossover was caught testing in Pune which sported smoked headlamps and revised tailamps.
The company also showcased automatic variant of Aria of the Auto Expo 2012 with a 6 speed gear box mated to the 2.2 Dicor engine. Interestingly the Aria AT makes 154 BHP@ 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1,800 – 2,700 rpm.
We expect new variants, minor changes to the interiors and a Harman Kardon music system
Tata Motors certainly have to work on a new marketing strategy for the Aria from just a lifestyle vehicle to a more capable option for customers who want a balance between a SUV and a sedan.
