Many talented drivers and navigators from across Southern India are expected to take part in the Expert Class of the popular TSD Rally, “Torque On time, Every time – 2011” to be held The Club on Sunday.
Winners of the recent endurance rally, Dakshin Dare, the husband-wife pair of Satish Gopalakrishnan and Savera D’Souza will be the star attraction in the Expert class. Torque premium car accessories is supporting the event.
Hosted by TSI Racing, under the aegis of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India, the event only for cars under the Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format would showcase the importance of Navigators. The 90-km rally will start and end at The Club on Mysore Raod, after the Rajarajeswarinagar Arch, opposite Gopalan Mall.
About four to five trainers will be available at the registration desk at the venue on Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm to not only register the entries but to provide training to newcomers on the nuances of a TSD rally, the queen of grass-root events. The roads are both Tarmac and Dirt (20 per cent) and the road book would be given only at the start of the rally. “The participants are expected to maintain the nominated speeds and times to get to the distance so as to locate the undisclosed check-points,” said Sujit Kumar, one of the organisers. The top speed of the rally will be restricted to 45 kmph.
All road cars including SUVs can enter the rally without any modifications. The different classes are Expert, Intermediate, Novice, Corporate and `All-ladies’.
