Toyota is all set to launch the Etios diesel in India in September. The company had said that it was currently studying the Indian market for the diesel version and would launch the car soon. September is the month where the Etios diesel would break covers.
Toyota will launch both the hatchback and the sedan which will help the company to almost double its sales in India.
The Etios diesel will come with the same 1.4 turbo-diesel that powers the Corolla diesel with a simpler Fixed Geometry Turbo (FGT) and power output is expected to be in the region of 75bhp.
The Etios diesel is likely to cost around Rs. 100,000 more than its petrol equivalent, which is currently priced between Rs 6-8 lakh.
