Toyota Kirloskar Motor more than doubled its growth with 15,948 units sold in Dec 2011 as compared to 6,362 units in the corresponding month last year, thereby registering its highest growth in the year with 151%. TKM registered an annual growth of 82% in the year 2011. The company sold 1,36,150 units as compared to 74,762 units in the previous year.
The Etios series sales topped the yearly sales volume with 43,313 units of Etios and 20,262 units of Etios Liva sold respectively.
Commenting on the year’s performance Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director – Marketing said “The past year has seen good sales in TKM despite challenging market conditions and unforeseen and unfortunate occurrence of Tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand. The Etios series, the sales driver in 2011, has sold well. The Innova, Fortuner and Corolla Altis followed with 51,930 units, 10,946 units and 9,283 units respectively. We take this opportunity to thank our customers for their trust and faith that has added to the popularity of Toyota in India. The coming year is of vital importance as we get to witness and contribute to the growing Indian auto industry.
