Mahindra is happy with the success of the Verito and with the facelift the company hopes do more wonders. Mahindra now plans to further utilise the platform by launching the sub-four meter version of the car and a hatchback is also in minds in future.
The sub-four meter or the compact Verito is expected to be launched by end of this year. The car will largely carry the new look but will be quite different from the rear. The Verito compact sedan will get a chopped boot which will help the car to measure under four metres. The sub-four meter category attracts an excise duty of 12 per cent while longer cars attract double excise rates at around 24 per cent. The difference in excise duties will help to reduce the price by atlest 30-40k.
Mahindra is also working on the hatchback variant of the Verito which will allow the company to the enter the big race of hatchbacks in India. Currently around 60% of the sales in Indian market comprise of the hatchback segment.
Higher localisation would help Mahindra to make prices more competitive, loads of features and a a very aggressive pricing could Mahindra to take on Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata which currently the leaders in this segment.
(New Mahindra Verito launched)
With the new Verito M&M is expecting to register sales growth of around 30 per cent. The new Verito has 23 new design and style changes, and is costlier by Rs 8,000-20,000 compared to the earlier version.
Mahindra will also launch the mini Xylo by Diwali which is also a very important model for the company.
