Tata Motors has confirmed the Nano Europa will be launched in India by 2012. The Nano Europa will get a 3-cylinder all-aluminium MPFI engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission and will have a longer wheelbase than the current Nano with higher structural strengths. It will also sport comfort and safety features like power steering, air bags and ABS Tata displayed the Europa at 2009 Geneva motor show and has plans to launch it in Europe, Latin America and other countries.
The Europa is being developed keeping in mind the requirements of international markets and thus will be a step above the existing Nano retailed in India. The company has targeted that the petrol engine will be highly fuel efficient and will have low CO2 emission of less than 100 gm/km.
