The world’s cheapest car Tata Nano has been launched in Nepal which is the second foreign country after Sri Lanka, where the car has been introduced.
The Nano is priced at Nepalese Rs. 800,000 (US$ 11,080) which is over three times its price in India. The steep price is mainly due to an addition of 240 per cent customs and other duties and insurance charges.
All the 3 versions of the Nano: Standard, , CX and LX have been launched.
The car will be marketed by the sole distributor of Tata in Nepal Sipradi Trading and the company has tied up with ten commercial banks to provide financing for the purchase of the vehicle.
