Tata motors India has registered higher sales in the month of June. Total car sales were at 23,499 nos. The Indica range has registered growth at 8,188 nos compared to last year. The petrol price hike has could be the reason for increase in sales. The UV range also sales up , however the Aria is still registering double digit numbers.
The Indigo range saw drop in sales, guess the Toyota Etios and Mahindra Verito could be the reason.

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in June 2011 were 66,358 vehicles, lower by 1% over June 2010. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for June 2011 were 61,264 nos., lower by 2% over 62,602 nos. sold in June last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 192,333 nos., a growth of 7% over 180,210 nos. sold last year.
Commercial Vehicles
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in June 2011 in the domestic market were 39,271 nos., a 13% growth compared to 34,791 vehicles sold in June last year. LCV sales were 23,197 nos., a growth of 18% over June last year. M&HCV sales stood at 16,074 nos., a growth of 6% over June last year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 113,044 nos., a growth of 16% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are 67,502 nos., a growth of 23% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 45,542 nos., a growth of 8% over last year.
Passenger Vehicles
The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 23,499 nos. (21,993 Tata + 1506 Fiat) in the domestic market in June 2011, lower by 22% compared to 29,948 nos. (27,811 Tata + 2,137 Fiat) in June last year.
Sales of Tata passenger vehicles for June 2011 are at 21,993 nos, lower by 21% over June last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 5,451 nos., lower by 29% over June last year. The Indica range sales were 8,188 nos., lower by 9% over June last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 4,882 nos., lower by 35% over June last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range accounted for sales of 3,472 nos., lower by 4% over June last year.
Jaguar Land Rover sales in India continued their upward trend.
Cumulative sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 70,810 nos. (65,107 Tata + 5,703 Fiat), against 78,334 nos. (72,234 Tata + 6,100 Fiat) last year, lower by 10%. Cumulative sales of Tata passenger vehicles were 65,107 nos., lower by 10% compared to 72,234 nos., in June last year.
Cumulative sales of the Nano are 21,978 nos., a 49% increase compared to 14,779 nos., in June last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range are 17,935 nos., lower by 32%. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 14,432 nos., lower by 32%. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria range are 10,762 nos., higher by 12%.
Exports
The company’s sales from exports at 5,094 vehicles in June 2011 registered a growth of 21% compared to 4,222 vehicles in June last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 14,182 nos. are higher by 32% over 10,747 nos. in the same period last year.
