Tata Motors launched the Vista D90 at the at Buddh International Circuit. At the launch the company showcased the Vista D90 Xtreme concept.
The Xtreme concept is the Vista on more steroids. Raised suspension and rough road package the Vista does look a soft SUV and reminds one of the Fabia Scout and Fiat Palio Weekend.
The Vista Xtreme gets the same Fiat engine re-tuned to 105 PS. The engine is called as the D90 Xtreme, and the company the increase in power is mainly due to the addition of Power Boost Module. Flared wheel arches, black skirts at the front & rear, 16? 8 spoke alloy wheels and the external spare wheel at the rear; all give the hatch a SUV look. Black interiors with yellow stitching, aluminium finish gear knob and pedals adds more appeal to the interiors.
Overall this concept does look sporty, but will it go under production remains a doubtful question. Tata Motors may consider this option as an intermediate option, before the company launches the Mini SUV planned on the Vista platform. The company is certainly studying the feasibility of such model and if it does get a good feedback, we could expect it to hit the market.
We expect the production version may get the external spare wheel as an optional feature while the engine will be same D90 which power the Vista D90 and Manza.
Tata certainly needs to further work on the quality & reliability aspects if the company wants to win more customers.
Do you think Tata Motors should consider launching the Vista D90 Xtreme concept? If yes, what price are you ready to pay?
