The Indian arm of Suzuki two-wheelers, Suzuki Motorcycle & Scooter India unveiled the all new Swish 125cc scooter and Hayate Motorcycle at the 2012 Auto Expo.
The ‘Hayate’, Japanese for ‘Fresh breeze’ or ‘Swift wind’, is a 110 cc motorcycle which may replace the Heat and Zues in the Indian market targeted at first-time motorcycle owners and people who are seeking a stylish commuter. Pricing for the Hayate motorcycle hasn’t been announced as yet and could hit the market.
The Swish 125 scooter is targeted at the younger generation who want more of style appeal. The same 125cc block which also does the duty on the Access 125 is used on the Swish which generates 6.4 KW at 7000 rpm and 9.8 NM of torque.
The scooter uses a CVT transmission and telescopic front forks, drum brakes at either end and revised aerodynamic styling. Under seat storage comprises of a 20 litre capacity while fuel tank capacity is 6 litres. The Swish 125 is priced at Rs 45,431, ex-showroom, Delhi and will be available from Suzuki dealerships by March 2012. The Access 125 will be sold alongside the Swish and will go above the Access in terms of positioning.
Suzuki two-wheeler is looking for a larger market share and will add new capacity to reduce the waiting periods.
