Suzuki unveiled at the all new SX4 crossover at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show, which is being held from 5 March, 2013. Based on the concept car S-Cross showcased at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September, the SX4 grows bigger in size and has now become a full sized SUV.
The SX4 Cross over is powered by a 1.6 litre petrol & diesel engine. The diesel engine is sourced from Fiat, providing class leading performance and low emissions.
Maruti Suzuki has announced to launch three new SUV’s in the Indian market. The first will be the older generation SX4 Crossover followed by the new SUV based on the XA Alpha concept previewed at the 2012 Auto Expo. We can now expect the third product to be the all new SX4 Crossover powered by the same engine options.
Maruti Suzuki may consider the 1.3 litre diesel engine option to attract lower excise duties. Expect the new SX4 and the SX4 Crossover to make it to the Indian market by 2014-15. The Crossover will compete with the likes of Renault Duster, Mahindra XUV5OO and the Ford EcoSport
