Suzuki showcased two new products for the Indian market at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Swish scooter has already been launched and the Hayate motorcycle will be launched some time may.
The ‘Hayate’, Japanese for ‘Fresh breeze’ or ‘Swift wind’, is a 110 cc motorcycle which may replace the Heat and Zues in the Indian market targeted at first-time motorcycle owners and people who are seeking a stylish commuter. Pricing for the Hayate motorcycle hasn’t been announced as yet and could hit the market in May.
The Hayate is powered by a new single cylinder air cooled 4-stroke SOHC, 2 valves 112.8cc engine. The motorcycle gets a kick and electric start option. The engine is mated to a 4 speed constant mesh transmission with wet multi plate type clutch.
The Hayate is equipped with drum brakes at both the ends.
