Suzuki Motorcycle India is all set to launch their third new product for 2014 in August. The Japanese company will launch the Gixxer 150cc motorcycle makings its foray into the premium 150cc segment which is currently dominated by Yamaha FZ series and Pulsar 200 NS.
The Gixxer was unveiled at an event in Mumbai during the launch of the Inazuma 250cc motorcycle. The new 150cc motorcycle has been inspired from the legendary GSX-R series and the engineers have tuned the chassis and engine to gain maximum performance. The engine is equipped with SEP technology which gives a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The engine will be mated to a 5 speed manual gear box and not a 6 speed like the GS150R.
The engine can be revved upto 12000 rpm and the digital console provides information on speed, fuel efficiency, time and gear shift indicator. The Gixxer comes with a disc brake at front and drum at the rear. Tyres are wide with 140/60/17 section at the rear similar to the FZ and 100/80/17 at the front. A monoshock and short double exhaust gives the bike a quite macho look.
The Gixxers draws a lot of styling ques from the FZ which is also expected to get an extensive facelift in the next couple of months.
