Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced a price-cut on the big bikes, in wake of the new policy announced by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) on custom duties for completely knocked down (CKD) and completely build units (CBU) units in India.
The ‘Superbike’ GSX-R1000R, which is available for Indian customers in a CBU will now be available for INR 19,80,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the legendary Hayabusa, which is a CKD, is now priced at INR 13,59,000 (ex–showroom, New Delhi).
Suzuki Motorcycle India is keen on bringing its global flagship products to the country in sub-1000 big bike segment, starting with the soon to be launched GSX-S750. The GSX-S750 will be Suzuki Motorcycle India’s second ‘Made-in-India’ big bike after the Hayabusa.
Suzuki also sells the GSX-S1000F, GSX-S1000, GSX-R1000 ABS and the V-Storm 1000 superbikes in the Indian market.
In Goa, Currently there is no dealer retailing the superbikes but one can make an arrangement with the local Suzuki dealer like Kunde Suzuki to purchase these superbikes.
Commenting on the revised prices Mr. Sajeev Rajashekharan, EVP, SMIPL said,
“Considering our focus on offering a premium range of products to our Indian customers, both the CKDs and CBUs form a key component of our existing and upcoming motorcycle line-up. Suzuki Motorcycles India plans to pass on the benefits of government’s decision to reduce the customs duty on CBU and CKD units, to its customers. Conducive policies will encourage manufacturers like us to bring more products and support the emerging big-bike culture in India.”
