Skoda India celebrated its 10th Anniversary in India. Skoda has been operating in India since November 2001 as a subsidiary of ŠkodaAuto a. s. Czech Republic (Volkswagen Group).
Skoda entered into the Indian market with the launch of the Octavia sedan. It soon started its assembly operation in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shendra near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The facility is spread across 300,000 sq. Mt.
The Octavia Combi followed the Octavia and then the company launched the flagship Superb in 2004.
Skoda also introduced the Laura in 2005 and Fabia in 2008.
