ŠKODA India will be launching the Rapid MY2015 model on the 25th of September in Delhi. The car will get a major mechanical upgrade, a few feature additions and cosmetic changes on the exterior.
The Rapid will be equipped with a new 1.5 diesel engine which develops 105PS at 4,400 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. The engine will be shared with VW Polo and soon to be launched refreshed Vento. Another major feature addition is the new DSG gearbox available on the new diesel engine. The 1.5 DSG delivers a high mileage of 21.6 km/l while the manual option achieves 20.5 km/l. There is no update to the 1.5 petrol engine.
The Rapid gets new features such as Cruise control, Card holder, parking sensors on rear and ESP (on DSG).
The Rapid also comes with a Black package which includes Black- projector headlamps, alloy wheels, front grille, ORVMs and roof which give the Rapid a striking and sporty look. The price of the black package is approximately Rs. 20,000.
