It’s shocking a move as Honda plans to capture the people’s attention for Toyota Etios and the new Maruti Swiftm, Honda will launch its Brio small car in the country next month, six months ahead of schedule and weeks before Japanese rival Toyota rolls out its first small car in India.
Honda Brio, a compact car developed for emerging markets such as India, will hit the road on March 17, although deliveries to customer will start only during the monsoon season in August-September.
Honda Siel Cars India refused to either confirm or deny the information. “We do not want to comment on this at the moment,” a company spokesperson said. Brio was slated for India debut in September this year, but now it will be launched simultaneously with its Thai sibling, popularly called the Eco-car, the advertising industry official said.
While Honda has not indicated any price for Brio, it is expected to be under Rs 5 lakh, much cheaper than the Thai Eco car, which will have a tag of Rs 6 lakh in Thailand.
