According to the source who divulged these details, the company will launch the bike during the Diwali festive season and will take on the like of the Honda CBR250 R.
The company plans to launch the faired version and like the FZ16 a naked version may not be introduced. There was a lot of anticipation of R25 based on a similar platform like the YZF R15 to be introduced. Seems like the company, is looking to cash on the tourers in the 250cc segment which has seen an immense growth in the last two years.
In terms of styling we can expect the bike to borrow ques form the Fazer 1000 with a full faring, longer seat, low sitting and high top speed. The posture will also be designed to suit for long rides and performance will be in par with similar bikes in the segment.

Pricing will be a crucial factor for the success of the bike, as the brand is well known for its performance and reliability. Yamaha will most likely price the bike at a premium as compared to the Honda CBR 250R.
The Fazer 250 will also lock horns with the Hyosung GT 250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM Duke 200.
Yamaha has been performing healthy in the 150cc plus segment, with the bulk of sales from the FZ16, FZ-S and Fazer 150. The YZF R15 is doing satisfactory numbers. The recently launched Ray scooter has helped the company generate volumes and the company also plans to more models in the scooter segment in the coming months.
