Chevrolet India is taking major steps to improve the image of the new Sail hatchback. The company which launched the new model in 2012 has found very few takers with sales averaging 500-600 units.
To increase demand and make the car look more attractive, Chevrolet reduced the prices on both the petrol & diesel variants. The Sail petrol now starts at Rs. 4.19 lakhs and the diesel at Rs. 5.29 lakhs.
The new pricing has also made the car more competitive and offers a decent feature list for the price.
Another step is the re-branding of the Sail series, from Sail U-VA to Sail hatchback , while the sedan will be called Sail Notchback. The Sail duo comes with a three-year/100,000-km standard warranty. In addition, customers can opt for a unique add-on service maintenance package, the Chevrolet Promise, which provides free maintenance for three years or 45,000 km (whichever comes first).
The Sail series are the first product from Chevrolet under the GM-SAIC joint venture and will be followed by the Enjoy MPV soon.
