Renault will launch its 5th product the Scala sedan in the Indian market on the 7th of September. The car will be the 3rd product in 2012 and will help the French car maker increase its presence in the growing sedan segment.
The Scala is essentially the Nissan Sunny with a different look and is expected to start at Rs. 6.5 lakhs and will stretch upto Rs. 10 lakhs. The Scala is designed at Renaults Design Studio in Mumbai and gets a more distinct look compared to its brother.
The sedan will be available in three petrol variants: RxE, RxL and RxL automatic while the diesel will be available in two trims RxL and the RxZ. The diesel will certainly be the volumes seller for the company.
The 1.5 petrol engine will produce 99 PS of power and 134 Nm of torque mated to either a 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic gear box while the 1.5 diesel engine will generate 85 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.
