The Italian scooter maker has set an ambitious plan for the Indian market and is eyeing at a larger market share of the growing two wheeler market setting a sales target of 90,000 to 95,000 units in 2013. Vespa has received a warm response across the country with more than 120,000 enquiries and sales of 25,000 vehicles till date.
The company has plans to launch new variants of the Vespa LX 125 in 2013. A disc brake and sporty variant of the scooter is planned which will be launched in a couple of months.
Vespa will offer the disc brake only on the front tyre. A disc brake at the rear may seem to be a very expensive option and the company may not introduce the same in India.
The Sporty variant could sport two tone colour options, leather seat cover, chrome embellishments and accessories. There will be no changes on the inside, and the sport variant will be only a cosmetic make over.
The launch could happen in next couple of months. Stay tuned to GoaOnWheels.com for more updates.
