October has officially become the month for car launches with most carmakers launching either new products, facelifts or variants of its existing products. Ford too will join the wagon with the launch of the Figo facelift on the 15th of October.
The Figo facelift will get a step of tweaked headlamps which provide better illumination, new design alloy wheels from the Classic, steering-column-mounted controls for audio (like those found in Renault cars), upgraded interior materials and two new color options : Yellow and kinetic blue.
No changes will happen under the hood expect some fine tuning of the car. Ford Figo has helped the American maker make some dent in the flooded compact car segment in Indian and also helped register sizeable volumes.
The prices could also be revised and certainly will happen on the upper end. But we feel Ford should keep the prices untouched as it makes a better proposition as compared to its competitors. The Figo facelift comes at a time when the compact hatchback segment is witnessing a decent activity. Chevrolet will launch the Sail U-VA hatch and Honda will introduce the Brio AT. Tata is testing a number of Vista variants while Toyota has launched limited edition of the Liva hatch.
