The Future Roadmap for FIAT Chrysler in India will be unveiled on the 6th of December. Fiat which has been struggling in the Indian market for last 10 years will get an all new life.
Mr. Mike Manley- President and CEO – Jeep® Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, Chief Operating Officer- Fiat-Chrysler Asia Pacific along with Mr. Enrico Atanasio- MD (FIAT group automobiles India pvt. Ltd) will share the future plans for the Indian market.
Fiat will announce the launch of new models for 2013. We can expect the facelifted Punto and Linea along with 2 more secret models.
Whats also confirmed is the launch of the American iconic brand Jeep for the Indian market. Part of the Chrysler group, Jeep will launch the Grand Cherokee which is now in its fourth generation to compete in the luxury SUV segment. In total Jeep have five models in its portfolio – Patriot, Compass, Liberty, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.
Jeep will launch the Grand Cherokee as a CBU and may consider local assembly is a business case does exist. If we are to believe some internet sources the Grand Cherokee could be priced around Rs. 40 lakhs.
Fiat India has already started working on its independent dealer network after parting away from Tata Motors. The company is aiming to have 80-100 independent dealers spread across 35 Indian cities in the next 12-18 months.
