Nissan has launched the Sunny Special edition in the Indian market. The company has advertised on the daily Times Of India today.
The special edition comes with Rear parking camera, 2 Din Multimedia System and Rear spoiler with chrome plated trunk garnish. The special edition is offered on the base base XE petrol/ XL diesel variant and comes with leather seats and a 2-DIN touchscreen music system which is mostly likely to double as a screen for the rear camera.
The special edition is more of a cosmetic make over to boost the sale of the base variants. Nissan should definitely look at adding more features to base variant and make it look more attractive as a package.
The Sunny is available with a 1.5 petrol engine and a 1.5 diesel engine.
Nissan is also planning to launch the Sunny Automatic in the Indian market very soon. The sedan will get the same X-Tronic CVT gear box which is also found on the Renault Scala. The Sunny Automatic will be available on the petrol variant only and will be priced below the Scala.
Nissan India also announced a marginal price hike on the Micra hatch & Sunny sedan.
