Nissan’s next big launch for the Indian market is the all new Evalia van which is also known as NV200 in some international market. The Evalia made its first public appearance at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Evalia is expected to be launched in August.
The Nissan Evalia, an award-winning seven-seater family car, is the first Urban-Class Utility Vehicle. Innovative and exciting, Evalia boasts best in class fuel economy, a truly versatile interior with multi-use functionality and a host of sophisticated features such as Rear View Camera and Intelligent Key.
The Nissan Evalia MPV is a 7-seater model which has been modified for sale in India. The Evalia is being produced in collaboration with Ashok Leyland. The Evalia MPV will be powered by a 1.5 DCi motor which also powers the Micra, Sunny, Pulse and the upcoming Duster SUV. The motor will be tuned to produce 100hp and 240 Nm of Torque.
When sales start later in the year, Evalia will add a new dimension to Nissan’s range in India, joining the locally built Micra and Sunny models and the imported X-TRAIL SUV, exciting 370Z sports car and Teana premium sedan. Its arrival marks the start of not only a new segment for the Indian market but also a new phase in Nissan’s presence in the country.
The Evalia will directly compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Chevrolet Tavera.
Expect the pricing to be in the range of Rs. 7-9 lakhs when launched depending on the variants.
