Nissan Motor India has announced a marginal price increase for their small car Micra and the recently launched sedan Sunny (Petrol).
Prices of all three variants of Petrol Micra will go up by Rs.3, 000 while prices of both variants of Diesel Micra will go up by Rs. 12, 000.
Prices of all three variants of Petrol Sunny, which was launched in the Indian market in September, 2011, will be increased by Rs, 5,000, while the price of the recently launched Diesel version of Sunny will remain unchanged.

NISSAN ANNOUNCES MARGINAL PRICE INCREASE FOR MICRA AND SUNNY PETROL
New Prices are to be effective from January 20, 2012
CHENNAI/MUMBAI/NEW DELHI (January 19, 2012) – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Limited announced today that prices of its best selling Diesel and Petrol versions of Micra and September-launched Sunny Petrol will be increased by 0.56 per cent to 2.09 per cent from January 20, 2012.
Prices of all three variants of Petrol Micra will go up by Rs.3, 000 while prices of both variants of Diesel Micra will go up by Rs. 12, 000.

Announcing the price increase Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt Limited, Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama said, “The rising input costs and depreciating Rupee have left us with no option but to revisit the prices of our models in order to maintain our business momentum. We have kept in mind the customer interest and attempted a very marginal hike. We are sure that our valued customers will appreciate our efforts to give them the global quality products at affordable prices.”
Sunny Diesel was launched early this month in the market, after dealerships started accepting bookings from the second week of December, 2011. Sunny Petrol was launched in India in September, 2011. The Sunny won the 2011 Car of the Year award from ET -ZigWheels in the entry-level compact sedan segment.
The Micra was launched in India in July, 2010 and, so far, over 25,000 Micra’s have been sold in India. Micra received an award in the premium compact segment category of the JD Power Asia Pacific 2011 India Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study with a score of 857 and performed particularly well in six of the 10 categories.
