Bajaj will launch the all new KTM 200 on the 24th of January. The Managing director of Bajaj Auto Mr. Rahul Bajaj has also hinted something big on the 30th of January and could see a launch by March. Bajaj did not participate with its 100% potential at the 2012 Auto Expo and only concentrated on the RE60 which will be the first 4 wheeler from India’s second largest two-wheeler maker.
Bajaj Auto is riding high on the success of the Pulsar brand which was launched a decade ago. The company invested heavily in the Pulsar and kept updating it from time to time. The constant revisions helped the company to keep the competition aside. With various versions and engine capacities, Baja tried to cater to a larger customer base.
In 2012 the bike which made the 150cc more renowned is going to be launched in all new Avatar, based on a completely new Chassis, engine, gear box, and lot more to offer.
Bajaj is going a step further and the New Pulsar will share a lot of technicalities with the KTM Duke. However the two products will be positioned differently.
We can expect a 135cc, 150cc, 180cc and 220cc to make it in the bike. Well Bajaj may also consider launching the 200cc which will also do the duty on the Duke 200 expected to debut in a few days from now.
The bike continues to sport the muscular tank at the front and the biggest change is seen at the rear. The new Pulsars will get monoshock at the rear with LED tail lamps. The frame seems to very like the one used in the KTM Duke a Rectangular box swing-arm.
A Split seat gives the bike an added aggressive looks and compliments the overall design. The Pulsar gets a large front disc brake but no disc at the rear. Hope the 180cc plus variants get them.
The new alloy wheel design with flatter tyres accentuates the looks. It also reminds us the Yamaha FZ, though the width is less.
We hope Bajaj plays the pricing card right as always.
