Following the launch of the Figo Aspire earlier this month Ford has announced that the New Figo hatchback would be launched soon. Sources have now revealed that the new Figo hatchback launch is on the 23rd of this month.
Based on the same platform as the Figo Aspire, the new Figo will look similar to the Aspire till the rear wheels from where the boot gives way for the hatch. The hatch will get new tail lamps in addition to a rear wash and wipe.
The interiors are similar to the sedan version but will be Black-Grey as opposed to Beige.
Powering the New Figo is 1.2 litre Petrol and a 1.5 litre Diesel both mated to a five speed manual gearbox. Ford might introduce a Dual Clutch Automatic gearbox in the future.
Features like Dual air-bags could be offered from the base model and higher models will get ABS, EBD and parking sensors.
Ford will also offer SYNC™ voice-activated system with Bluetooth®-enabled phone to make calls, play your favourite music – using just your voice in addition to SYNC™’s Emergency Assistance automatically calls emergency services which shares your exact GPS location.
The car may also feature Automatic Climate Control, Power-fold Mirrors, MyFord Dock®, Ford MyKey® and many more features available on the Aspire.
The Ford Figo will now rival the likes of the Nissan Micra Active, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 when it goes on sale. The new Figo hatchback will be manufactured at the company’s Sanand plant in Gujarat alongside the Figo Aspire sedan.
Pricing could start at just under Rs. 4 lakhs for the base petrol and Rs. 4.8 lakhs for the base diesel. The Figo hatchback will be available in 4 variants – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.
