We just reported about the new Octavia caught testing in Bangalore and now we have some fresh images of the Octavia spotted on in Mumbai and Mumbai-Pune expressway.
We have complied images posted on different sites. Skoda is testing different variants of the Octavia, both petrol & diesel. The petrol (Red colour) was caught testing in Bangalore while the diesel was caught testing in Mumbai (White & Blue). Another interesting variant caught testing is the white Octavia with black roof which is simply stunning.
The new Octavia is built on VW’s new MQB variable platform which is 90mm longer and 45mm wider than the Laura with a wheelbase of 2686mm. Engine options include a new 1.4 TSI petrol which is available on the Volkswagen Jetta. A 1.8 TSI could also be on offer. Diesel options include more powerful 120Ps and 150Ps engines.
The new Octavia also offers more safety features like lane assistance, automatic braking system, fatigue detection system, nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, intelligent light assistant that switches automatically between low and high beams, and traffic sign recognition in addition to the standard features like ABS, ESP, BA, EBD, traction control etc. How many of the new features make it to the India market will depend on the pricing and positioning of the Octavia.
The launch is expected to happen in June according to sources close to us.
Skoda is working hard to gain customer confidence and is taking all possible measure to improve its after sales.
Will Skoda able to regain the lost ground with the new Octavia? What you think guys?
