Mercedes-Benz previewed the 2013 S-Class, dubbed Aesthetics S. The concept design will be showcased at the upcoming Paris motor show.
Called Aesthetics S, the silhouette concept gives “an artistic glimpse of the design of the luxury saloon of the foreseeable future,” according to Mercedes’ head of design Gordon Wagener.
“The characteristic lines of the S-class have always represented the expression of automotive culture as we understand it,” boasts Mercedes-Benz design chief Gordon Wagner. “The new S-Class will continue this tradition and, with its striking lines, will put a face to our design philosophy over the coming years.”
The all new S-Class will be launched in 2013 and will be lighter and more fuel efficient.
The production S-Class is tipped to appear at the Geneva motor show in March 2013, but some sources say Mercedes may launch it at the 2013 Shanghai Auto show as China is a very important market for the S-Class model.
The sedan will get world-first technology which includes a braking airbag under the nose to reduce impact speed, airbags in the rear seatbelts and ‘intelligent’ suspension that can scan road surfaces ahead and adjust accordingly.
