India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has launched the DZire facelift in Goa. The second gen DZire was launched in February 2012, nearly three years ago making entry into the compact sedan segment. With rising stiff competition from Honda, Hyundai, Tata Motors and more models to enter the segment with likes of Ford Figo and Tata Kite, Maruti Suzuki has updated the Dzire with cosmetic changes and new features.
The new facelifted Swift DZire now gets a new face & updated features first seen on the Swift update.
The exteriors now come changes which include:
- New Front Bumper with a large air dam
- Restyled fog lamps inserts with L – shaped chrome bezels
- Aluminum trims on its sides
- Lightly re- profiled headlamps with black tint finish
- All new front grille with V – shaped chrome bar
- New design alloy wheels
- Rear parking sensors on top end variants only
- Electrically retractable ORVMs with turn indicators
The Interiors have got minor updates and new features. The interior equipment includes
- New upholstery
- New improved 6 – Speaker music system with Bluetooth connectivity
- Steering mounted Bluetooth controls
- New Push button Start & Stop with smart
- Front & rear accessory socket
- Mike integrated map lamp
As when it comes to safety the Dzire VXi, & VDi offer ABS with EBD, while ZXi & ZDi variants come with Dual front airbags.
Maruti has tweaked the petrol engine for better efficiency, the 1.2 litre petrol now produced less power of 83.1 bhp as for the earlier 85.5 bhp. The tweaked ECU and reduced frictional losses helps the New ZDzire return 20.85 kmpl compared to the earlier mileage of 19 .1 kmpl. The DDiS motor has the same power but delivers more to a kmpl at 26.59 kmpl.
New paint shades have been added – Alp Blue (Exclusive colour for the new Swift Dzire), Cave black and Magma. The DZire is available in 8 Trims: 5 in Petrol including AT & 3 in Diesel.
