Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car maker is battling the tough times the company is currently going through. With the Manesar plant closed for almost a month now there is no clear sign as to when the plant will start manufacturing operations again.
The company had planned to start operations on the 20th but with fresh opposition the conditions does not seem healthy again.
Maruti Suzuki has now postponed its launch of the new Ritz by September. The car may be launched just around the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The Ritz will get a new bumper, revised headlamps, a new grille and more cosmetic changes. Under the hood the car will get the k-Series VVT engine which also does the duty on the Swift. Performance figures may match the Swift but we feel to distinguish the two cars Maruti may not give the 87Ps tune to the Ritz. The Diesel engine will also get lower NVH levels but there are no changes to the power and Torque.
Maruti Ritz facelift more pics out, launch in September?
A new feature includes the addition of an automatic gearbox. This seems like a smart move as the market of Automatic options has seen a rise. We expect the AT option will be on the petrol version only and like the Dzire it will be plonked on the VXi variant only.
Interiors will be updated and the company may beige or other lively colour to the car a roomier experience. With substantial changes the prices will definitely be increased.
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz competes with the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10 and Ford Figo.
