Mahindra’s MPV, the Xylo has clocked 1 lakh sales figure. The MPV which was initially criticised for its poor looks was accepted well by the Indian customers and was liked for the space on offer and value for money.
The 2012 Xylo saw some key product improvements as the Xylo announced the launch of the STYLISH NEW XYLO. The new avatar of the Xylo sports 50 new changes and features including five variants powered by three distinct engine options including the powerful 120 BHP mHawk engine.
The All New Xylo also boasts of a pioneering Voice Command Technology for vehicle commands, enabling customers to control over thirty feature – actions in their new Xylo merely by talking to it, all of which will make for a hugely convenient and fun customer experience.
The New Xylo’s external and internal features were chiseled on the template of changing customer needs, taking its Sedan Plus positioning to the next level in terms of style, space, convenience and comfort. The stylish new Xylo, available in 5 variants – D2, D4, E4, E8 and E9 and 6 attractive colour options, is just right for the discerning customer which has led him to perceive it as an ideal vehicle for city roads.
The Mahindra Xylo boasts of a wide array of unique features including best-in-class third row space, flat bed seats, Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS), foldable flight trays, Intellipark Reverse Assist, Airbags, ABS with EBD and surround cool dual ACs, dual mobile charging points amongst other features.
Most importantly, the Xylo offers 3 engine options – the industry leading 112 BHP mEagle engine, powerful 120 BHP m Hawk engine and the fuel efficient mDI CRDe engine – which lends more power to the vehicle, unmatched by others in the category. These best in class features, coupled with excellent ground clearance makes it an ideal vehicle for city driving as well as long drives.
The Innova, Xylo’s nearest competitor has been positioned as a premium MUV and its price had soared with time. In the absence of other competitors, Xylo has made good of this opportunity and has performed consistently well in terms of sales figures since its launch in early 2009.
The recent facelift which saw the introduction of the mHawk engine from the Scorpio along with the cosmetic changes to the car has also helped The Xylo do good Numbers. The Car now looks much better and plusher. The desirability has also increased.
Things will not be smooth for the Xylo in the future though. The Ertiga from Maruti is a hit and can take away prospective customers from the Xylo. Though not as spacious as the Xylo, The Ertiga is more car-like and is high on desirability. The upcoming MPV from Chevrolet, The Enjoy could also affect the Xylo.
