Ever since its first mention about the launch of the Mahindra Verito sub compact, the model has been a hot topic for every launch from the Indian SUV maker. Mr Pawan Goenka, made it clear in 2012, the Verito Sub compact will be launched in India in 2013 in the first quarter.
We revealed a few spy shots of the Mahindra Verito sub compact previously, and now thanks to member Crazy Driver of Team BHP.
From the pics it’s clear the company have chopped the boot and raised the rear to give a hatch like look. The design does remind of the Ford Focus, which is sporty hatch back available in the International market. The pics may also remind us of the Peugeot 309 and the Hyundai Accent Viva notchbacks launched in India. In terms of the looks the car will most like carry the front facia of the Verito with a few tweaks. Interiors will also be largely similar to the revised Verito.
The Verito sub compact or Verito compact sedan, whatever we call it will get a new identity with a name which will carry the Verito brand with a suffix. No much details on the technical specs are available, but we can certainly guess it could either be the K9K diesel engine from Renault or the new 1.5 twin-stage turbo diesel which powers the new Quanto SUV.
We are digging into more details on the Mahindra Verito compact sedan…
