Mahindra will launch its all new flagship SUV “XUV 500” in Goa by January 2012. The XUV which was launched at very competitive price will be introduced in Goa by January 2012.
Available in three trim versions, the XUV500 2WD W6 is priced at Rs 10.8 lakh, 2WD W8 costs Rs 11.95 lakh, while the top-of-the-line 4WD W8 variant retails at Rs 12.88 lakh. (Note prices mention are ex-showroom Goa).
The XUV500 is powered by a 2.2-litre M-Hawk engine with a transverse layout. This engine develops 140bhp ans 330Nm of torque. Mated to this engine is another first for an all Indian vehicle – a six-speed manual gearbox, developed in-house by Mahindra. The car has disc brakes abound on all four wheels and in addition there is ABS, EBD plus ESP to ensure safety. There are driver and front passenger air bags, start/stop is standard equipment and there is also hill descent control for the top line offering.
