Mahindra and Mahindra will be launching the sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from SsangYong in India by the middle of next year after its first SUV XUV500 debuts in the end of 2011.
“Some of SsangYong SUVs will come by middle of next year, after the ‘XUV 500’ which will come by December,” Vivek Nayer, senior vice president, marketing, automotive division, Mahindra and Mahindra stated at a press conference recently. The South Korean company known for its SUVs was acquired by Mahindra in February this year.
According to Mr.Nayer, the company is currently focusing on growing its core models the Scorpio, Bolero and Xylo, while it is also paying equitable amount of attention to the recently name and facelifted sedan Verito and the pick-up truck Maxximo.
To start with SsangYong will launch the Korando and Rexton SUV’s in India. The Actyon may be launched later.
