The XUV500 has been a runaway success for Mahindra. Since launch in September received over 8,000 bookings in just ten days. The company then suspended bookings and was re-opened briefly in October.
The company will start accepting bookings for the XUV500 from the 25th of January. Bookings for the XUV500 will now extend to 19 cities in India, which includes Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh / Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nasik.
From January 1st, Mahindra announced a price hike as the price during launch was introductory.
Those who have booked the XUV500, as a special case, for all the current bookings, for which delivery has not been made, the increase would only be 50 percent of the actual price increase proposed.
The base model will be dearer by Rs 30,000, the four-wheel drive variant will cost as much as Rs 50,000 more and the higher W8-AWD model will be dearer by Rs 55,000. All the prices are with reference to ex-showroom, Delhi.
Mahindra XUV500 (pronounced as XUV five double O) is available in two-wheel drive option and four–wheel drive option. The XUV 500 is powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk transverse-engine which produces 140 PS and 330 NM of Torque.
